US Privacy Notice

Effective date: 5 August 2025

This US Privacy Notice supplements our global Privacy & Cookies Policy and applies to residents of the United States in states with consumer privacy laws (e.g., California (CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others).

Scope

We are a controller/business for the personal information we collect directly from you (e.g., account, purchases, newsletter) and a processor/service provider to the extent we handle data on behalf of others. This notice describes our practices over the last 12 months and going forward.

Categories of Personal Information We Collect

  • Identifiers (e.g., name, email, account ID)
  • Commercial information (purchases, download/access logs)
  • Internet or other electronic network activity (on-site events, device/browser info)
  • Geolocation (coarse/region from IP, not precise)

Sensitive personal information: We do not intentionally collect or use sensitive personal information.

Sources and Purposes

We collect information directly from you and via cookies/SDKs (analytics, only with your consent). We use it to provide and secure our services, process payments (via Paddle), support you, comply with law, and improve our site. For analytics and showing interest-based content across contexts, we rely on your consent and provide opt-out choices.

Disclosures to Service Providers/Contractors

We disclose personal information to our service providers (e.g., Paddle for payments, hosting providers, email infrastructure, Google Analytics if enabled). We require recipients to use it only for contracted services.

Essential cookies: we set a first-party preference cookie (consent.pref) to remember your choices. This is not used for tracking and is not a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under state privacy laws.

“Sale” / “Sharing” and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We may be deemed to “share” or engage in “targeted advertising” when analytics cookies are enabled. You can opt out by rejecting analytics cookies in the Cookie settings. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we treat as an opt-out of sale/share.

Your Rights (State-Specific)

  • Access/Know & Portability: request a copy of your personal information.
  • Delete: request deletion of personal information (subject to legal exceptions).
  • Correct: request correction of inaccuracies.
  • Opt-out: opt out of sale/share/targeted advertising (use Cookie settings or GPC).
  • Limit use of Sensitive PI (CA only): not applicable as we don’t use sensitive PI for inferring characteristics.
  • Appeal (CO/CT/VA/etc.): if we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email.
  • Non-discrimination: we won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
